Andrea Donner, comes from Nuolen, a tranquil village in Switzerland. After further training in textile design and nutrition, she settled in Unterägeri in the canton of Zug, where she lives with her loved ones. As a teacher, she passes on her knowledge of textile design to secondary schools in the canton of Zurich.
Andrea revels in the art of crafting and manipulates a variety of materials and techniques. Her experiments include elements such as earth, ash, lime, wax and pigments. She combines these with various canvases, from upcycled old linen to digitally produced and printed backgrounds. This mixture of art and material awakens in her the transformative essence of culinary alchemy.
Between 2015 and 2021, her studio and farmhouse, which also houses her beloved beehives, became a showcase for her creations. Here, she curated openings and organized unique events that combined the worlds of cooking and painting. In the difficult year of 2021, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Andrea presented her artwork to visitors to events at the Hotel Riverside.
Now, with a new studio space at her disposal, Andrea is looking forward to a new chapter of exploration and a promising collaboration with Pashmin Art.
