OLENA LINSE is an artist living in Swizterland. Her stark and imposing paintings represent and symbolize female self-confidence and assurance. The artist stated that they are painted with an idea of beauty that comes stems from Southern Europe and references classical and ancient Greece. Her portraits depict the face of mankind, not close to nature, but representing the idealistic and humanistic image of man. For her process, she conceptualizes her work down to each small detail before she begins painting.

The artist explains her creative process as such, “I do not work with models, but I can see the faces, hear stories of friends and acquaintances and use them in my portraits. A symbiosis often occurs from what I hear, from my own life experiences, my feelings and my imagination. My paintings find their final shape first in my mind”. Her pictures, in spite of all the dynamism and energy, radiate a remarkable degree of peace of mind.
